Our problem: We identify ourselves with our ordinary, conventional, conceptual mind, with all the thoughts and feelings which arise in our mind stream.

And this revolves all around this very strong sense of a “ME” at the centre of it all, a sense of “I”, which is unchanging, quite solid and very real, which is in distinction to everything else which is other.

So from a Buddhist point of view this identification with our ordinary conceptual thinking and a strong sense of “I” is our fundamental ignorance.
